Best Western Plus Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf review
The Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco is a Best Western Plus hotel. The primary thing this hotel has going for it is it's location. It is only 2 or 3 blocks from Pier 39 and within walking distance of many other San Francisco tourist spots. We had a 2 room suite which looked out into a very small, inaccessible, courtyard. The hotel and our room were very clean. The furniture was in good condition but a little dated... gave it kind of an old world feel though.
There was not much in the way of amenities, however, most people do not go to San Francisco to spend a lot of time in a hotel. There were no bars and only one small Italian restaurant, Cafe Pescatore, which also had a street entrance. We did not know it was even part of the hotel until our second day. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel is rated only 3 stars because of the lack of amenities but the user ratings are about a 4 star which is about right.
The lack of dining in the hotel was not a concern as there were plenty of restaurants and night spots within walking distance. Surprisingly the prices were not bad at most places. San Francisco is a great place for those who are looking for a short vacation. It is a fairly clean and safe city with not much blight even though it has many old buildings. There is so much to see and do within walking distance or a short taxi or trolley ride. There are also many tours that one can take to see the sights of the area such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Ghirardelli Square, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Alcatraz, Monterey, Carmel, Berkely, etc.
We would recommend the Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco because of it's location and value. Contact us soon to reserve your special vacation!
